The 5000 CMD (cubic meters/day) wastewater treatment plant at Mei Fu Plant One, a Taiwanese major textile company in Vietnam, has officially commenced operations, marking a significant improvement in environmental treatment capabilities for Vietnam’s textile industry. The treatment facility is operated and managed by Cheng Hsing Environmental Technology, a professional environmental engineering company, which took on this project in 2019.
As an important production base of a well-known Taiwanese textile enterprise in Vietnam, located in the industrial hub of Binh Duong Province in southern Vietnam, the major textile company has been committed to improving production efficiency while highly valuing environmental protection responsibilities. The newly operational wastewater treatment facility adopts internationally advanced dyeing and finishing wastewater treatment technology, capable of effectively treating high-concentration organic wastewater generated during textile dyeing and finishing processes.
Cheng Hsing Environmental Technology states: “The wastewater treatment facility at Mei Fu Plant One is currently one of the best-performing environmental facilities in the textile industry in Binh Duong Province. The project employs advanced physical-chemical plus biological treatment processes, with effluent quality consistently meeting Vietnam’s Grade A discharge standards, with some indicators even surpassing national standards, demonstrating the environmental commitment of Taiwanese enterprises.”
It is understood that the wastewater treatment plant has a daily processing capacity of 5000 cubic meters, equivalent to the water volume of two Olympic standard swimming pools, mainly treating industrial wastewater from textile dyeing and finishing production lines. The treated water quality not only meets Vietnam’s strict environmental discharge standards, but some of the treated water can also be recycled for non-production use in the factory, significantly reducing the enterprise’s water costs.

Officials from the Binh Duong Province Environmental Protection Bureau attending the launching ceremony stated that this textile factory’s environmental investment sets a good example for local Taiwanese enterprises. “The textile industry is an important export sector in Vietnam, but it also faces environmental challenges. This textile factory’s proactive investment in advanced wastewater treatment facilities demonstrates the enterprise’s long-term vision and sense of social responsibility.”
Cheng Hsing Environmental Technology, as a professional environmental engineering company, has undertaken several wastewater treatment projects for Taiwanese enterprises in Vietnam, including multiple textile companies like this one. As Vietnam’s environmental regulations become increasingly stringent, more manufacturing enterprises are beginning to prioritize environmental investment, leading to continuous growth in the demand for professional third-party environmental services.
The official operation of this wastewater treatment facility not only enhances the enterprise’s environmental image but also provides valuable reference for the sustainable development of Vietnam’s textile industry, demonstrating Taiwanese enterprises’ positive contributions to promoting green industrial development in Vietnam.
